> about me
hi all, my name is julian (like the lemur). i go by he/him.
i speak both (egyptian) arabic and english, and would love to one day also be fluent in mandarin.
for EVERYBODY that asked, my msm friend code is HGGR-8KDY-35X4-ML. it is a mobile account, so unfortunately, i can't friend pc users. be warned.
> about this website
this is just a fun little project so i can spend my free time doing something meaningful instead of going on social media! i lucked out by getting to own this domain, so ill be using that to my advantage...
because its made in my free time (which can be limited), it will probably look underdeveloped for a loooooooong while... i apologize in advance.
speaking of development... this site works okay on bing, firefox, chrome, and safari (especially on non-mac devices). mobile users—sorry, but this site is gonna look like doodoo on your end.
if you want the full experience, this website FULLY works on opera gx as long as the custom style script addon is installed.
> about borrowing code
like i guess you can? even if i said no, you still can just inspect element everything, and i wouldnt be notified of this supposed "code theft." but, being a beginner and all, my code is shit. im not exactly the best programmer to steal from...
regardless, i have a credits section so... if you actually do want something from my site, you know where to get it!
| comics | music | videogames | television | dc: hellblazer, booster gold, mr. terrfic, batfam; marvel: spiderverse, deadpool, x-men | afrobeats, uk drill, hip-hop, r&b, rap, reggae, rock, pop (american and korean), vocaloid, soundtracks... i will note that i don't listen to any specific artist, just a bunch of songs within their respective genre | my singing monsters, dispatch, ace attorney, date everything, rhythm heaven, tomodachi life, love and deepspace, your turn to die, reverse: 1999, flow free | justice league, the batman, turbo fast, all hail king julian, sonic boom, boondocks, all saints street, captain underpants, the cuphead show, carmen sandiego; anime: jojos bizarre adventure (stardust crusaders), saiki k, haikyuu, jujutsu kaisen, soul eater, kyousougiga, aggretsuko |

soooooo my good friend husband saif recommended i also make a uses page. but the thing is im embarrassingly chained to the apple ecosystem so ummmmm im sorry if my shit isn't aesthetic vintage... not gonna lie a lot of this shit gives the impression that im like 5 years old but I DON'T CARE!!!!

| hardware | software/applications |
iPhone 16 Proi know, i know... pelt me with tomatoes all you want. i really wanted the iPhone Air because of how it reminded me of the nostalgic, older iPhone era (it also is more pleasing to look at aesthetically), but camera quality is a big thing for me when looking for a phone, and the iPhone Air does not meet that expectation. this is because i travel frequently, and appreciate high-res photos to look back on my trips with. i also didn't get the Pro Max because 1) it's more expensive and 2) my hands are quite small, so the extraneous weight and size would bother me... unfortunately, having an apple phone limits my ability to emulate, sideload, and mod when compared to an android user, but i make it work!
Apple Watch Series 7sometimes i feel like i'm missing out on the traditional watch life but then i remember traditional watches can't display timmy timepiece on a manual watch face *smirk* i currently use the infograph watch face with watchsmith widgets all over, so it looks super nice while being simple enough to read clearly. i would include a picture, but... just trust me on this one.
iPod Touch 4th GenerationHOOOOOOOOOLY nostalgia. it's still got a jack port in the bottom left (who remembers when apple devices had the jack port?!) and everything. i even had an inch-long stylus tip for it. nowadays, the battery runs out very fast, so i have to constantly keep it plugged in if i want to use it. i mainly just use it to play audio in my room while i sleep.
iPhone 6another nostalgic piece. this was actually not originally mine; it belonged to one of my old coworkers before it was given to me. but it was only recently that i finally found it (after a long search) and was able to revive it... only to find out that it refuses to connect to the internet (despite my older iPod being able to). at least its charging port is the same as my iPod's. this time, the jack port is on the top right.
iPad Pro 13-inchi loooooooooove my iPad. i purposely got a larger one because... well, because i use it for note-taking, drawing, comic/traditional reading, video editing, and movie watching. those experiences are generally a lot better with a larger screen size (especially the drawing and editing). i was also afraid that a smaller iPad size would be too much like an iPhone (making the purchase redundant), but i don't know, maybe that's an out-of-touch thing to say.
Apple Pencil Proobviously if i'm taking notes and drawing on my iPad, i need a stylus to go with it! this pencil is not one of the ones that have a charging end; it only charges via magnet-sticking to the top of my iPad. i consider this a good thing because the pencils with charging ends have to awkwardly stick out of the iPad's port for however long it takes to charge, whereas mine can just sit atop it, making it easier to put away.
Macbook Pro 14”a lot of people think windows is the superior choice when it comes to choosing a computer, but i'll have to play devil's advocate and say that mac is superior. maybe i'm heavily biased but whatever. the windows chips are notoriously inferior to apple's, and the finder file explorer is a lot easier to navigate and work with than windows'. not to mention that windows' new copilot takes an unnecessary amount of effort to get rid of that the average windows user isn't going to take. and this isn't to overly glaze apple or whatever, this has just been my personal experience because i've worked long-term on windows before.
Nintendo DS Litelet's just get the bragging out of the way... i modded this. *smirk* BUT! i was able to mod it in such a way that i can play not just DS games, but also NES, GBA, and GBC games. it's amazing! and, by emulating windows (see the software section), i was able to install a DS program someone made to make it a traditional iPod! with the scrolling wheel and everything. i had to have windows to do this because the installer and file insertion was not compatible with mac (like songs would NOT work on the DS ipod unless i specifically added them through windows)... which i GUESS is a con to macs in the debate of mac vs windows, but there are ways around it! so my point still stands.
R4 Cartridgethis is the thing that allowed me to mod my DS. it has a little space to put a microSD card, which is where all the games will go. this makes it so you no longer have to switch out cartridges everytime you want to play a game; they're all in one unit! the edition i specifically got avoids this "time bomb" issue, which is basically when the games in the cartridge stop booting after a certain time, and you have to "rewind" the time your console is set to fix it.
AirFlybasically it's a jack port that can connect to (up to 2) bluetooth headphones, making it so you can use wireless headphones to hardware that isn't bluetooth-compatible. i use this to connect my AirPods to my DS, as well as airplane flight screens. this is particularly useful in loud environments that require the noise cancellation my headphones provide. Apple EarPodsthese are the wired earbuds that apple originally had in the olden days, but they still sell them to be compatible with newer ports. they are usually my first choice when it comes to headphones because i find them way more comfortable than AirPods long-term, and can even sleep with them on without issue. so you'll usually find me wearing them by default. i also enjoy how the in-line remote can pause, go back/forward, and adjust volume at about your collar, unlike AirPods that require you to reach all the way up your ear to do the same things. it's a lot more convenient in that sense. a con, though, is that the audio input works for EVERYTHING except computer notifications. for some reason, computer notifications ALWAYS play from the speakers and not the EarPods.
Apple AirPods Proi only use these when noise cancellation is necessary to enjoy my music to the fullest extent. like i said, they're a bit uncomfortable after some time and i have to take them off for a few minutes after an hour or two of use before resuming. i don't know if this is a me issue, but when it hurts after i take them off, it also hurts when i turn my head. very uncomfortable. Apple AirPods Maxi'm gonna be honest, i barely use this because of the pain it incites in my outer ears after some time, which is a shame because of how high-quality it is. additionally, because i got the white/cream color, the silicone band connecting the earpieces stained over time! and i can't seem to get rid of it, either... :(
Dell 32 Curved FHD Monitor - S3222HNgreat for working at my desk. it made more sense than getting an iMac because i'd rather have the same tabs and place where i left off than have to deal with a whole other set of things... the con is that the MacBook microphone disconnects and you have no audio input until you put on headphones. another con is that, when connecting my Switch to this monitor, the audio output doesn't work because i didn't get speakers with the monitor, so i'm just playing in silence. Magic Keyboardi use this when my mac is plugged into my DELL monitor. this is the ONLY modern device i own left that takes a Lightning cable. everything else is USB-C. it's a sign of progress, in my opinion, because of how much more universal USB-C chargers are, unlike lightning cables which were exclusive to apple products. you know what isn't a sign of progress? apple taking out the jack ports! but anyway. because i have an older keyboard, it doesn't have the touch id thingy that other Magic Keyboards have. and you may think it's no big deal... but imagine that you're logging into a platform and your password manager pops up, prompting you to click it to automatically input your username and password. but uh oh! becasue there's no touch id available, you actually have to put in your mac password before the password manager can input your password for the website. this defeats the point of the password manager, which is to get you to avoid inputting as many passwords as possible. at most, it's mildly annoying, but still...
Magic Mouseagain, i use this with the DELL monitor. the con is that the USB-C port is under the mouse, so you can't use it while it's charging. luckily it lasts long enough to where you could plan out a time to charge it when you're not using it, and then not have to deal with that for another month or two. i also really like it because i can sidescroll without having to hold shift, like i had to with another mouse i used to use (i believe it was lenovo?).
Anker MagGo Power Bankmagsafe portable charger. i really like how it has a metal piece you can move out to stand itself (and hence my phone) up. i also like the mini-screen indicating its own percentage and the time it will take to charge my phone/itself.
Anker Prime Power Bank (27K)another portable charger, but with one USB-A port and two USB-C ports. it only has enough juice to charge my computer up to 75%, which is not ideal but usually sufficient enough for mid-day battery drainage recovery. i also like the screen on this one, too.
NumWorks graphing calculatori use this enough to where this page would be incomplete without it. i was able to snag it from holland when i visited, and it's everything the TI-84 wishes it could be; the new model is literally a COPY of NumWorks! i was able to download a few games onto mine, as well, including flappy bird, the snake game, and a game a penpal of mine made himself! overall, the NumWorks is something i cherish dearly. |
BoringNotchmac dynamic island. a more aesthetically pleasing customization. DeltaDS emulator. it's commercially available on the appstore, so it was pretty easy to get working. i used to play tomodachi collection on it before living the dream came out. Spotifymusic streaming platform. i specifically use the EeveeSpotify IPA to get no ads. VLCmedia player. how i listen to music offline because 1) i don't have spotify premium and 2) i like to download and "own" the songs i like, especially before they get taken off spotify SideloadlyIPA sideloader. this is how i was able to acquire EeveeSpotify off my computer. HakuNeko Desktopit downloads manga off of piracy sites! good for mainstream manga but bad for more niche works... Parallels Desktopwindows emulator for mac. i had to crack this to get it to function for free, though it's not up to date because of that. despite this, it's amazing and does its job. now i have the perks of windows AND mac on one computer. i originally wasn't able to upload mp3 files into my DS iPod because it was only compatible with windows, so this is a huge steal. OperaGXbrowser. i really like the web mods and customization it comes with. the colors of this website are actually derived from the colors i made my browser theme in the past! where i message saif and stay connected to my local community. kinda ironic how i use this more than iMessage. Telegramthis is home to ALL things piracy. i use it for cracked softwares, sideloads, and procreate brushes. i use this to talk to my chinese friends/penpals; i have quite a few, so this is particularly useful! i really like the automatic message translation feature because it saves me time. i also noticed that the layout is the exact same as rednote's (and probably other chinese social medias, too). Apple Bookstext reader. the reading view is the most aesthetic on this platform compared to other reading apps (and dark mode friendly!). it's where i read fics exported as epubs! Panelscomic reader. this is where i read my comics and manga! i refuse to read off a piracy site because i like to "own" the stuff i consume, so i usually download the full issues off my computer as a .cbz and read on my iPad because of the screen size. Wikipedia (the mobile app)the free encyclopedia. recommended to me by saif. it's amazing to read stuff on mobile. i particularly enjoy reading articles having to do with politics, astronomy, anatomy, zoology, and paleontology. My Singing Monstersmy favorite game ever. the songs are amazing to listen to mindlessly while you study because of how repetitive it is. Flow Freepuzzle game. great for offline flights. it's the ONLY puzzle game im good at (seriously. im ass at wordle and blockblast). i don't know how. Papa's Scooperiaanother fun offline game. you have to pay like. a dollar to play the mobile papa's games, though. Notabilitynote-taking app. i use this for school, but sometimes i actually draw on there because it has an object eraser. i got this way before they started charging for premium (i think it was sometime back in the 2010s?), so i just have the premium features for free. lucky me! Procreatedrawing platform. where i make the jojo stickers across my site! ... as well as a variety of other illustrations, which i am too shy to share at the time of writing this. Opalscreen time manager. it has a lot more features than apple's screen time manager, and is harder to turn off, so that deincentivizes me to use social media. NumWorks appmobile calculator. i use this instead of the calculator app, especially during school if im too lazy to get out my actual NumWorks. AccuWeatherknown to be much more accurate than apple's weather app. the con is that it has ads... |
